Is there such a thing as an upside–down triangle? Isn't it still just a triangle no matter what rotational scheme it lives by? Here's a sweatshirt graphic I made called "Upside–Down Triangle with Stubble."

This is a fun little 'handmade' type project I've been experimenting with for some time. Each letter is made from a folded sheet of A4 paper, which is then placed on a lightbox. The dark areas that form the strokes are where the paper folds and overlaps, therefore letting less light from the lightbox through.

I've been wanting to add a blog site to my cyber property for several weeks now, but haven't had much time recently to build one. So I'll just post some bits and pieces here for now.
The following items are just a few of the many odds and ends that I've picked up from local second–hand shops. These items of the past are a constant source of inspiration for my work...or for laughter. Almost Twelve — 1968
This little gem is the modern benchmark in sex education. It's great! Love the metaphor of the arrows hitting the bulls eye.
Camping & Cooking
The New Zealand Camping and Cooking Bible! With its unconventional landscape format and pastel pages, it's all you need to survive in the wild. The body copy is mono spaced Courier, and check out the illustrations...Frypan man is cooking sausages on a shovel, and is very happy with how his moustache goatee combination is coming along!
Here's an extract from the book – "Hub caps are expensive to replace, so by putting your name, address and telephone number inside each one will increase your chances of getting them back if they fall off."
All About Science — circa 1970
Great journal covers for a college science series. Nice simple heading structure, matched with stunning imagery. They'd make nice posters.

It would be rude not to post a goodbye wave to Professor Hazel Gamec, the founder and academic manager of the Wanganui School of Design. As of July, Hazel is retiring. It's safe to say she's done an amazing job– the Wanganui School of Design is an educational facility of a very high caliber that has produced many of New Zealand's top creatives. So thanks a lot Hazel!

Yesterday I graduated from the Wanganui School of Design with distinction (whatever that is). Hooray! I'm a made man...without a job. And so the search begins. Ask yourself – "Do I have a job for Tyrone?"

Here's a little game we played at the Wanganui School of Design called 'Redesign the Opening Credits'. You choose a movie you like and redesign the intro credits. I reworked the original 1979 'Mad Max'.

As we speak I am flat tacking my way through my last month at the Wanganui School of Design. I'm finishing up my 3 year degree, and graduating in July. I'm not sure of the location or dates of our exhibition quite yet, but I'll keep you, yes you, posted.
